What is a RISE Programme?
Our RISE programmes can be found nestled in The Aviary – this is a multi-cultural learning zone where you will find programmes to engage and help your child to excel in English, maths, science and Black History.

There are three zones:  Flamingo, Hummingbird and Eagle.  Your child can start off as a Flamingo (level3)  and rise through Hummingbird(level 2) to Eagle (level 1). We place children according to their ability and age. On average most children will start off as flamingos and rise through the levels.  Some children may start at (level 2) hummingbirds and then onto (Level 1) eagle. The child works according to, their writing level, reading level and maths level. They all incorporate black history and English reading text, which test skills of comprehension, spelling, grammar, composition and factual knowledge.  The maths will test number work and mental maths and look at new methods to solve complex numerical problems.Black history will focus on black scientist, innovators, high achievers and role models. With each level they have to complete worksheets and tasks to achieve at that level before moving on to the next level.
Parents are encouraged to buy books as part of the programme and there are recommended text books from RISE. The skills developed are the same that they would need in school and are linked closely to the curriculum.
The aviary is a place where birds are nurtured until they can take wings and fly. These programmes will nurture your child if they are a reluctant reader and writer, if they are behind for their age or if they are not being stretched and you know they can do better.
You can subscribe to a RISE programme online and work with one of our tutors or you can purchase the packs independently via mail order to use at home with your child. However, it is highly recommended that you use our home/online tutor services so that your child's individual needs can be met.
