PUblishing Radical Works of Inspiration

With distribution from Simon & Schuster, we are committed to supporting emerging authors, not based on the size of their following but on the quality of their stories.

We believe that books are powerful enough to build a platform, creating conversation and community. Through our stories, we heal ourselves, but also, we free each other.

Each season of Rise Books is like its own constellation, offering different elements of what it means to be human, and what it means to celebrate the deep magic within us all.

In the first year, Rise Books will be publishing five authors, including founder Kristen McGuiness, wonder witch Amy Miranda, creativity coach Maggie Boxey, body acceptance activist Ryan Sheldon, memoirist Emily Redondo, and astrologer Nada Yousif.

Kristen McGuiness

After years of working with authors who struggled to find a home with traditional publishers - and could not afford to self-publish - founder Kristen McGuiness recognized she wanted to create a space that was equitable and supportive of authors whose stories deserved to be told, even if traditional publishing wasn’t ready, or willing, to help tell them. Rise Books is a booty glitter publisher, er… boutique literary publisher, which curates the best of the Rise Writers community, publishing 6 to 10 books a year in the genres of cultural disruption, mysticism, ethical business, radical birthing, collective liberation, political fiction, literary memoir, motherhood, recovery, and other works that explore what it means to be radically inspired.
