Author Today
Rise Literary lives at the meeting point of independence and tradition, offering authors the freedom of partnership and the credibility of an established publishing house. Every book receives high-quality production, in-house marketing and publicity, subsidiary rights representation, and national sales and distribution through Simon & Schuster—so authors don’t have to choose between independence and legitimacy.
Here, publishing is inspired and rebellion is rewarded.
This is radically inspired publishing.
Curated with care. Built in collaboration.
A premier publishing experience for authors who invest—
in beautiful books, shared vision, and writing the good fight.
“Rise Literary’s belief in me and midwifing my career as a writer has forever altered my life and creativity, freeing me, seeing me, and providing platforms for me to show up.”
— Gertrude Lyons, author of Rewrite the Mother Code (Rise Literary May 2025)
PUBLICITY PLAN
Rise Literary partners with world-renowned PR agencies to pitch authors across national, regional, local, and digital media, creating meaningful opportunities for byline growth and sustained visibility. This work is designed to help authors cut through a crowded market, support book sales, and build lasting recognition—moving them toward their goal of becoming celebrated authors.
Curated outreach to newspapers, magazines, literary journals, and cultural review platforms aligned with the book’s voice and audience.
Targeted digital outreach spanning review outlets, book culture platforms, literary publications, and curated newsletters.
Placement across NPR, radio, and an expansive slate of literary, cultural, and theme-aligned podcasts.
Rise Literary works with authors to develop a 12-month marketing campaign strategy designed to build content momentum over time. Campaigns leverage momentum content across traditional, print, and online media, alongside in-person and virtual events, to support sustained visibility beyond launch.
MARKETING CAMPAIGN
Social outreach spanning Bookstagram, Instagram book clubs, TikTok’s book community, and book-focused Substack platforms.
Strategic engagement with educational, cultural, and literary institutions, including universities, writing programs, museums, and women-led initiatives.
Organized appearances spanning festivals, workshops, launches, conferences, and bookstore and book club programming, in person and online.
“Publishing with Rise has been a deeply personal journey, being welcomed into a family that genuinely cares about books and the authors that birth them.”
— Maggie Boxey, author of The Three Things (Rise Books, 2024)
Rise EA
Rise EA is a five-month, high-touch phase that moves a finished manuscript into market with polish and momentum. The program includes final editorial refinement, interior and cover design, audiobook production support, and a 3-month marketing strategy. Authors receive collaborative support across editorial, design, audio, and publicity, including online advertising, press materials, podcast pitching, and momentum-building assets that extend well beyond release.
As part of Rise EA, authors may choose to finance the package through a reader-backed funding experience with Kickstarter, offering advanced marketing, visibility, and support.
